Normandy Veterans' Memorial Service
Emma accompanied her Grandfather on a recent visit to Normandy for the 66th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Her Grandad, Ken Reynolds, landed on Gold Beach and is heavily involved in the Normandy Veterans' Association.
They are pictured here at the British and CommonwealthWarCemetery in Bayeux, where a memorial service was held in honour of all those who fought for our freedom and for those who lost their lives in battle.
Emma said: "I am incredibly proud of my Grandad and all those who fought against fascism in the Second World War. Visiting the Gold beach where my Grandad landed was a very poignant moment. It is hard to even start to imagine what it must have felt like back then."
Emma and her Grandad were interviewed from Normandy live on BBC Radio WM on that Sunday by Professor Carl Chinn.
