Emma Reynolds, Labour Member of Parliament for Wolverhampton North East, has today welcomed the news that Jaguar Land Rover is to expand the size of its factory on the i54 site, on the edge of Emma’s constituency. JLR will invest £450 million to double the size of its Engine Manufacturing Centre, bringing the total level of investment in the site to £1 billion. This makes it the most significant new automotive manufacturing facility to be built in the UK in the last decade.

Speaking after the announcement, Emma said “The JLR factory on the i54 site has already provided a significant and welcome boost to the local economy.

“I am delighted about the news that JLR will be doubling the size of its state of the art factory and increasing its total investment to over £1 billion. The benefit to our city from this increased investment will be significant. It will create further jobs at the engine plant, in the supply chain and in the wider economy. This is a sign of confidence in Wolverhampton.”
