On Friday, 22 June, Emma is urging the community to come together to celebrate the life of Jo Cox by attending her ‘Great Get Together Tea Party’ she is holding at her constituency office. Emma said, “16 June marked two years since the murder of my friend and parliamentary colleague, Jo Cox. The whole country was shocked at the senseless killing of a young mother whilst out and about doing her job helping her constituents.

“I want you join me in remembering Jo by joining me at my ‘Great Get Together’ event, details below.

“I feel this is an appropriate way to remember Jo and her personal philosophy – that what unites us is more important than what divides us and that we should each do something to tackle loneliness.

“The Great Get Together is not about politics, instead it is an excellent opportunity to come together, meet new people and make new friends.

“I am really proud that here in Wolverhampton, different people with different backgrounds, and religions come together regularly to celebrate and share our festivals and cultures.

“The Great Get Together is another opportunity for us to simply “Get Together”.

“I very much hope that you can join me, you are most welcome to bring a family member, friend or colleague.
