Emma Reynolds, Labour MP for Wolverhampton North East has criticised the Tory government for imposing more cuts on Wolverhampton City Council. Emma said, “Yet again, Wolverhampton is being singled out for more disproportionate cuts to government grant. These cuts are excessive and unfair and Wolverhampton City Council has been losing grant year-on-year since 2010.

“Cuts to Wolverhampton’s grant have been much higher than the national average. This Tory government has put Wolverhampton City Council in an extremely difficult position. For the past eight years, the Tories have consistently cut the council’s grant, by some of the largest margins in the country, over 50%.

“This means the council will need to consider even more cuts that will be further damaging to the services it provides to people in Wolverhampton. While this government cuts taxes for millionaires, the only cuts it has given to people in Wolverhampton are cuts to essential public services.”

Have you been affected in any way by these cuts? I want to hear from you.
