Emma Reynolds, MP for Wolverhampton North East has congratulated the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor Ian Brookfield and Councillor Paul Sweet who took part in this year’s Carver Wolverhampton Marathon events on Sunday 6 September.

Councillor Brookfield and his team completed the 20k cycle ride to fundraise for his chosen charities which were: Wolverhampton Interfaith; local food banks and soup kitchens; the physiotherapy department at West Park Rehabilitation Hospital; Kingswood Trust and Bilston Remembered.

Councillor Sweet ran the half marathon for the Mayor’s charities and the British Heart Foundation after losing an incredible six and a half stone since last September.

Emma said: “It was great to be there and support Paul, Ian and Team Mayor in their somewhat daunting challenge and it was fantastic to be at the finish line to cheer them on. They have done amazingly well and the funds raised will help their chosen charities enormously.”
