Emma condemns decision to shut down AWM

Emma Reynolds MP this week criticised the Lib Dem-Tory Government’s decision to shut down Advantage West Midlands (AWM).

The Regional Development Agency – recently judged the best in the country – was created by the Labour Government in order to bring in investment and help businesses create jobs across the region. AWM has recently been working with Emma to expand and develop the i54 Business Park, including the move of local aerospace company, Moog, to the site.

Emma said ‘The Government’s actions could be hugely damaging for projects such as the i54 and therefore deprive our area of new jobs.

‘AWM are integral to negotiations with Moog about moving on to i54.’

AWM was recently found to be worth £8.14 to the local economy for every £1 invested.
