Emma attends Armed Forces Day Parade Emma took part in the commemorations on Armed Forces Day last weekend. Thousands lined the streets of the city to pay their respects to the servicemen and women, past and present who were marching through the city. Emma attends Save the Children event Emma Reynolds MP was able to show her support for Save the Children recently as she attended their Parliamentary Reception. The event was a valuable opportunity to find out more about what Save the Children do, both in the UK and around the world. Emma said 'I was really pleased to be able to attend Save the Children's reception and show my support for the incredible work they do. Emma attends Civic Sunday Emma was delighted to attend Wolverhampton Civic Sunday as the new MP for Wolverhampton North East. Traditionally Civic Sunday is to mark the appointment of a new Mayor. Emma said: 'It will always be an honour to represent Wolverhampton North East at events like today. Emma’s maiden speech It was an extremely proud occasion for Emma and her family when she made her maiden speech in the House of Commons on Wednesday 2 June. Normandy Veterans Memorial Service Emma accompanied her Grandfather on a recent visit to Normandy for the 66th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Her Grandad, Ken Reynolds, landed on Gold Beach and is heavily involved in the Normandy Veterans' Association. They are pictured here at the British and Commonwealth War Cemetery in Bayeux, where a memorial service was held in honour of all those who fought for our freedom and for those who lost their lives in battle. Emma criticises government on cuts to AWM Emma challenged the Business Secretary, Vince Cable, on the new Government's plans to make cuts to the budget of Advantage West Midlands. Emma said in the House of Commons: "Advantage West Midlands brings an economic benefit to the regional economy of over £7 for every £1 spent. Does the Secretary of State understand that the cuts that his Government have announced will put jobs at risk in my constituency and critical projects such as the i54 business park?" Emma in the media Emma has done various media interviews since being elected on 6 May 2010. Here she is pictured being interviewed on Midlands Today at the election count at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. Since then she has appeared on their daily bulletin on two different occasions. Emma appeared on Newsnight this week and was interviewed on the BBC Politics show on Sunday 13 June. A busy time in Westminster Emma spent her first few weeks as an MP setting up her local office here in Wolverhampton and holding a number of meetings with local companies, constituents and with colleagues in Westminster.
